Even though I have lived in northern Wisconsin my whole life and have experienced some cold winters...this is cold! I woke up this morning to find the thermometer bottomed out at -30 F. The local radio announced that this is the coldest it has been in 15 years. They actually cancelled Hayward schools this morning, which is a really good indication that it's cold. I know there are probably some areas that are colder, but in my opinion whenever it is below zero, that's cold enough. With expectation of the weather getting even colder overnight, somewhere in the -40's, it's time to crank up the heat and throw a big log on the fire! It should warm up sometime soon! It's almost the end of April and more snow if falling. Not a lot of snow, but enough to cover the ground. Opening of fishing season is a week a way. Many of the area lakes still have a fair amount of ice. It should be interesting if the lakes open up in time for the first day of fishing season on May 3. I'll let you know what happens.

Hayward Wisconsin. You would think we're still in the middle of Winter. Currently it is still snowing. So far, about 7-9 inches of snow. It should melt by June!!
